Using inspiration from the bistro’s hand painted signage the awning was designed to preserve Lucien’s downtown legacy. When redesigning the awning and front facade the colors were not changed just refreshed to give the iconic front an updated touch. Using a traditional painting technique with multiple layers of lacquer added on top of oil paint I was able to rejuvenate the wall while rebuilding the wooden facade.
